Old Man Mountain is continuing to add to their network of European distributors by entering into the French market via the distributor Massacan.
November 11th, Bend (OR, USA) / Amsterdam (NL)– Old Man Mountain is thrilled to be represented in France– the birthplace of brevets and randonee cycling that has led to modern day touring and bikepacking, by Massacan: a dedicated team of three cyclists based in Nice, France at the foothills of the French Alps.
Old Man Mountain first connected with Lucie Dennis from Massacan as an ambassador to the brand. Lucie utilized their more minimal Elkhorn rack in her riding and gravel racing. “It wasn’t long before Lucie asked us if we’d be interested in her distributing Old Man Mountain in France through her brand Massacan” said Erik Fenner, OMM Marketing Director.
Massacan’s two additional owners are Matthieu and Thomas. The trio may be new to being a distributor but their passion for cycling and industry knowledge from experience working in shops, for other brands, and running their bike brand makes them well equipped to connect with passionate gravel cyclists and adventurers and communicate the unique benefits of Old Man Mountain’s product offerings.
Massacan’s other arm is the Massacan bike brand. Gravel and road frames that are crafted in Italy and built at their new shop in Nice, France.
Their new Showroom, shop, and community hub is called the Rifugio. It just recently opened and we cannot wait to see it in person. They have built a space with care and attention to foster community and inspire their visitors to ride. As they say on their site. “Having a nice bike is cool. Riding it is even better”
Old Man Mountain was born from the need to mount racks on bikes without traditional mounting points. This started with QR skewer-mounted racks, and has evolved into a full line of optional Fit Kits for Thru Axle, or QR Skewer mounting racks on any bike. The products are tested and trusted in the most extreme environments on earth. Old Man Mountain racks have helped riders traverse Iceland in bitter cold winters, carried the gear of countless GDMBR riders, and circumnavigated the globe. The only remaining question is where will it go with you?
