Old Man Mountain Announces Hemlock Fork Packs, FLIP Cages with Fast Mounting System and New Atlas Deck Pack

Bend (OR), Amsterdam (NL)– 26/02/25 – Old Man Mountain launches its first cargo cages, the FLIP Cages. The FLIP attachment system, which stands for Fast Lock in Place, is seamlessly incorporated into these injection molded nylon cargo cages. If used without a FLIP compatible bag the cages come with an optional cargo foot and have slots for Voile straps like any other cargo cage. 

But paired with a bag using Old Man Mountain’s new FLIP system, FLIP Cages allow for a fast, secure, and rattle free attachment. Old Man Mountain’s first FLIP compatible offering is called the Hemlock; a 7-liter, waterproof bag that can attach with a simple hook of the feet and a 90 degree turn of the handle to confidently lock it in place.

Old Man Mountain has built the cages and bags to be ready for all types of aggressive riding while remaining silent and reliable. Hemlock bags and FLIP cages are rated to 9.9lbs (4.5kgs) per side. The bottom half of the bags are made from durable and abrasion resistant Hypalon where they are likely to encounter rocks and brush while the top are made from a lightweight ripstop for better compression while also reducing weight.

Hemlock with FLIP Cages will be available as a pair of two bags, two FLIP cages, and two cargo feet for $175.

FLIP Cages will also be available without the Hemlock bag for $80 per pair.

To complement these new fork packs, Old Man Mountain is also launching the Atlas Deck Pack. This 9-liter dry bag is purpose built to mount to the deck of a rack with built-in attachment straps that hold the bag in place but still allow easy access to your gear inside the bag. The top of the bag features a criss-crossing bungee for quick and easy stashing of a jacket, sandals, or some bulky snacks from the last resupply.

Similar to the new Hemlock bags the bottom of the Atlas Deck Pack is made from durable and abrasion resistant hypalon while the top is made from a lighter, more malleable ripstop. The Atlas Deck Pack steps up as the perfect seat pack alternative, lowering the center of gravity of what you carry, allowing full use of a dropper, and coming in at a svelte 275g!

While Old Man Mountain loves their own bag designs, they know that they serve a specific need and will not be for everyone.
