Indianapolis, IN – Silca, the leader in cycling marginal gains, cycling accessories and lubricants is excited to announce the launch of its groundbreaking new Ultimate Sealant (with Injectable FiberFoam).
This innovative formula is the first sealant to blend both natural and synthetic latex in a Tubeless Tire Sealant, while further refining SILCA’s groundbreaking FiberFoam technology with the world’s first use of single strand carbon fibers as an occluding agent.

The combination of these technologies results in an injectable sealant with 6+ month install life even in the hottest climates while still sealing punctures of 6+mm.
For context, three years ago, SILCA disrupted the cycling industry with the original Ultimate Sealant with FiberFoam. Winning every major independent test for sealing performance, and the first sealant to repeatably seal 6+mm holes, the product quickly took over the top echelons of racing, favored by numerous Lifetime GP Gravel pros and World Tour teams alike. However, the two downsides of the original design were that it had to be poured into the tire as it could not be injected through the valve, and the 100% natural latex formula needed to be replenished with a separate replenisher product to keep the sealant liquid.

SILCA Ultimate Sealant with Injectable FiberFoam, has been in use at Unbound, Big Sugar, Leadville, in the tires of pros and the Silca crew alike testing its capabilities. From sealing to usage time, our new Ultimate Sealant outperforms our original sealant in every way. With our new optimized carbon fiber strand length, we get less clumping and better dispersion throughout the liquid. With the blend of natural and synthetic latex we get better co2 compatibility, longevity, and a more even and consistent coating on the inside of the tire. Lastly, Silca Ultimate Sealant is ammonia free, safe for you and the environment.
One large challenge in developing a tire sealant is it takes months to test its longevity in tires. If that test does not meet your goals, it is back to the drawing board. This product was developed to address the feedback we heard from our more casual cyclist. 1A: It did not last long enough, 1B it could not be installed through the valve. We took those notes as a problem to solve, and we accomplished those goals after testing numerous new formulas over the last 2.5 years.
