Almere, 25th March 2026 – For two decades, TMD Security has protected over 400,000 ATMs globally from sophisticated attacks. With the launch of TMD Locks, a new brand dedicated to providing smart, stylish and user-friendly locks for e-bikes, the company aims to safeguard against theft and offer a solution against surging insurance premiums.
We’ve spent over 20 years protecting ATMs from sophisticated attacks and fraud. We are taking that banking sector pedigree and applying it to the e-bikes, cargo bikes and longtails we ride every day. As a Dutch company, we instinctively understand bike-centric culture, so it’s a natural progression for us.Leonard Heuker of Hoek, Managing Director of TMD Locks
Characterised by smart, electronic designs that combine uncompromising protection with effortless use, the TMD Locks product line will feature keyless access and integrated alarms as standard. By doing away with the traditional key cylinder, the brand has created an ART-2 certified range immune to conventional drilling and picking. Meanwhile, by removing the user friction of conventional hardware, TMD Locks shifts the bike lock from a cumbersome necessity into a seamless piece of technology riders actually want to use.
With our advanced proximity unlock technology, we're introducing a genuinely keyless solution via Bluetooth. There is absolutely no faff; your phone stays in your pocket, and it is just one press to unlock.Marnix Heuker of Hoek, CTO of TMD Locks
Slated for release in the spring of 2026, the first product from the new brand will be a world premiere, the TMD Chain Lock. This is the first fully keyless chain lock with ART-2 certification and an integrated alarm. This launch will be followed shortly after by the anti angle grinder TMD U-Lock and the GPS-equipped TMD Ring Lock, which includes a plug-in chain.
Based in the Dutch city of Almere and with over 20 years of experience, TMD Security protects more than 400,000 ATMs in 36 countries from card fraud and explosive attacks. The company is a market leader in keyless lock technology and access management solutions, helping major banks and ATM deployers in EMEA, APAC and the Americas to achieve significant operational cost savings while improving security.
As part of TMD Security, new brand TMD Locks translates two decades of high-stakes banking expertise and access management into the world of e-bikes. By replacing outdated hardware with intuitive, keyless electronic solutions, the brand offers genuine protection without the friction. TMD Locks aims to flip the script on urban security, transforming the bike lock from a 'necessary evil' into something riders actually want to use.
