Sardinia's biggest unsupported bikepacking adventure will take place in Olbia, Italy with distances / climbing of 700km & 10k meters or 900km & 15k meters.
Amsterdam 09/12/2024 – With the support of Regione Autonoma della Sardegna, locals Fabio Putzolu of Ichnu Cycles, Massimo & Cristina Molon of La Nuragica along with Berlin-based Sascha Eulig of The Gravel Club are excited to announce that the first edition of the SHARDANA Bikeventure will take place from 4 - 18 May 2025 in Sardinia.
The figure of the Shardana represents the strong warrior who defends his land against invasions and remains a mythological figure for the Sardinians. Even today, Shardana embodies the Sardinian spirit, always ready to protect their island, but also open to welcoming foreigners who come to respect and enjoy the beauty of the land and appreciate its culture and traditions. Sardinia has an ancient story to tell.
And what a better way to enjoy the beautiful landscapes of Sardinia than by cycling around the island.
Shardana Bikeventure is a event dedicated to cycling adventures in Sardinia, showcasing the island’s wild landscapes and rich cultural heritage. This event is tailored for gravel and bikepacking enthusiasts, offering an immersive and enjoyable experience. Inspired by the legendary Sardinian warriors, the "Shardana," the brand embodies the spirit of exploration and resilience. This event caters to cycling enthusiasts seeking challenges, nature, and authentic discoveries. Shardana Bikeventure also promotes sustainable and environmentally friendly tourism. More about the event and the team behind it there.
Participants can choose between 2 different routes, one of 700Km and another of 900Km for the more determined!
Whatever you choose, you will get to know the beautiful landscapes of Sardinia in all its facets. Picturesque beaches, vast landscapes, great people and, above all, good food will accompany you as you cover 10,000 or 15,000 metres in altitude.
After the join start on 4 May ‘25 in Olbia, you will have two weeks to complete the route at your own pace. You could turn it into a personal challenge, where you munch away the kilometres as quickly as possible, or you could make full use of the two weeks and enjoy yourself. Give yourself 3, 6, 8 or 14 days. It's entirely up to you.
